Making a first
submission
UPDATE:
The way photoconnect
accepts images is changing. It will feature only
images from photographers who have their own websites
supplied by photoconnect. Unlike other photographer
website solutions, photoconnect allows you to tap
into market offered by people searching for images
on the web.
More details will be on the site soon so you might
want to check back. In the meantime please
do not submit any images for review using the process
below.

Please follow the following instructions
closely. If you want to hear from us you must complete steps
1 and 2:
First step
You
must be able to supply images that fit our submission guidelines
on
sizing and fit within a single theme on a page.
At least one of the images you provide
in your first submission must be available online at a recognised
agency eg Alamy,
WorkbookStock,
MIRA.
If your agency operates on an exclusive
basis then it must allow you to sell direct to buyers - photoconnect
is
not itself an agency, it hosts your images so that you can
sell direct to buyers. Check with your existing agency
if you
are in
doubt.
To avoid confusion, outlets
such as iStockphoto, PictureStock.com and Shutterpoint.com
that do not have stringent quality control in place are not
recognized agencies for our purposes. If you are not with
a recognised agency then click

a standard quality controlled submission (an additional charge
will apply. see pricing).
Read our instructions carefully. Do not
take short cuts or submit if you do not understand what we
are asking - we
cannot advise on resizing and presentational issues. If you
are unsure use our premium
service and we will take care of things for
you and provide you a money back guarantee.

- Having read the sizing advice, prepare at least 8 and
maximum 16 images for your first Photoconnect
page.
- Do they
look like
quality images
that a buyer would purchase - sharp, blemish free, with
impact and
a good
gradation of tones?
- Are they a tightly
focused
group
of images following
a single theme that
makes indexing easy?
When you are satisfied, load
your images. (Note - your images will not appear
on the site - only we and you will be able to see this
page).
Second
step
Send a short email to us support@photoconnect.net with
a heading "Test Submission - <insert your LoginID>".
Please set out:
- the URL at which we are able to find your images online
- the maximum natural image size from your camera
or the maximum size scan from your scanner
- if you intend to interpolate (upsize) images and if so
how
- how you plan to accept payment. (If you would like a
PayPal facility set up then please provide your PayPal
email address)
Third step
We will review your submission and
if all is in order it will, if you wish, become the basis
for your first page on the site. If you
have completed steps 1 and 2 you should receive a response
from us within one week.
Fourth step
You will
be asked to register as a photographer, accept our terms
and conditions and make a payment.
You
may pay by credit card or debit card using the secure WorldPay
system. Alternatively
you should send us a Sterling cheque or pay in currency
by a direct bank transfer.
On receipt
of funds we will publish your loaded images. You may then
add more images and pages to the site.
