Photoconnect
is different in that it allows you, for most of its images, to
either buy the image online with instant download from a major
global agency, or contact the originating photographer to obtain
the image directly. Other
options
may
be available
and you can ask the
photographer
whether there may be flexibility in
how the image is delivered to you.
Finding
an image
You
can search the site using keywords in the search facility on
the left but useful in many instances is to use the 'browse'
page
where
there is an easy to follow directory approach to what
is available.
Royalty
free or traditional licensing?
Images are available
under traditional licenses or royalty free. For more detail of licensing,
see the licenses page. In
this area you
should find that photographers may be able to be more flexible
than large agencies who tend to have set terms.
Making
an order
You
browse to the photograph that interests you. If an instant download
is available then you will see links to allow you to purchase
the image through Alamy.com.
Should
you wish to contact the photographer, press
the 'purchase enquiry' button. You should then complete
the order form that is presented to you. Your enquiry will be
sent to Photoconnect and the photographer who will be able to
quote you a price.
Please
note that your purchase contract is directly with the
photographer. No
agreed order is in place until you have made an agreement with
the photographer. You are not dealing with Photoconnect and
should take the usual precautions that you might take when dealing
with
a
new
business
contact
for the
first time. Read more on what happens after you make an order
enquiry here.
Photoconnect
is a site run by a photographer - Scott Hortop. Photoconnect
itself does not handle funds on behalf of photographers but if
purchasing from Scott you have the option to use a credit or
debit card to expedite the purchase through PayPAl.
